Open Dialogues: A Journey Through Abstract and Figurative Art

Fahrenheit Madrid is delighted to present “Open Dialogues”, an exhibition that explores the interplay between abstract and figurative art. From May 23 to July 20, step into a world where the works of three distinguished contemporary artists — Harriet Korman, Janice Nowinski, and Mike Cloud — engage in a profound conversation.

Three Singular Visions, One Unique Dialogue

"Open Dialogues" delves into the intricate relationships between art's formal elements: lines, textures, colors, gestures, and compositions. The works of these three artists challenge our perceptions, urging us to reflect on the essence of art itself.

Mike Cloud: Master of Color and Movement

Mike Cloud captivates us with his energetic and provocative paintings. In this exhibition, he reimagines the traditional portrait in a fragmented, dynamic, and profoundly human way. His reorganization of facial anatomy, bisected canvases, and the inclusion of a bath towel introduce a sense of vulnerability and dehumanization. Cloud employs symbolic violence to critique societal violence, with the fragmented face and dehumanized subject representing the treatment of marginalized individuals.

Harriet Korman: Architect of Rebellious Geometry

Harriet Korman, a dedicated abstractionist, draws us into her realm of rebellious precision. Unlike the rigidity of traditional geometry, Korman infuses her unbalanced rectangles with hand-drawn imperfections, adding spontaneity and uniqueness to her compositions. Her work creates a dynamic interplay of contrasts, revealing that perfection can also be found in fluidity and freshness. Korman’s creations invite us to appreciate the beauty in the unexpected and discover the harmony hidden within imbalance.

Janice Nowinski: Visionary of Emotion

Janice Nowinski captivates us with works inspired by great masters, conveying a rich tapestry of feelings and experiences. Her textured, atmospheric creations bridge the gap between figurative and abstract disciplines. The fusion of figure and background reveals a profound connection between the subject and their surroundings, resulting in intimate and meaningful settings.

Despite their varied approaches and styles, the three artists in "Open Dialogues" converge in a space where abstraction and emotion intertwine, creating a compelling visual dialogue. Each piece offers a unique perspective on art's power to communicate ideas, feelings, and experiences that transcend verbal language.

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this extraordinary exhibition!
